Chairman
With over two and a half decades of experience, Samuel is a seasoned Banker and IT Consultant specializing in core banking solutions, technology risk, and fintech consulting. His expertise in core banking solution implementation and Technology risk consulting has been honed through his work with various Banking institutions and consulting firms in Nigeria, the UK, Canada, and the United States. He worked and consulted for such banking institutions as STB, now UBA, MBC, GTBank UK, TD Bank, CWB, ATB, a few Credit Unions, Varo Bank, and Itaú, to mention a few. Also worked as an instructor of different courses in Information Technology, Accounting, and Finance across different colleges, professional bodies, and private training organizations.
Samuel holds a doctorate in Information Technology from Walden University and an MBA in Technology Management from ATBU. He is a Principal Consultant and President at CHASE IT Consulting and the Founder of CBA College, which provides specialized Business Analysis focusing on IT, Banking, and Accounting. He was vice chair of the CIBN Canada Branch and has been a member of the CIBN’s Membership Development and Service Committee since 2022.
Vice Chairman
Samson is a seasoned financial professional with over two decades of experience spanning banking, financial advisory, and treasury operations. Beginning his career in 2002 as a Treasury Analyst at Citizen International Bank, Samson built a strong foundation in financial analysis and market dynamics, leveraging earlier roles in Market Research and IT. His tenure at Fidelity Bank from 2007 to 2013 saw him excel in trade finance and treasury operations, driving process optimization and operational efficiency. From 2013 to 2019, he transitioned to CIBC, where he progressed from Financial Advisor to General Manager, overseeing strategic growth initiatives and delivering exceptional client-centric financial solutions.
Academically accomplished, Samson holds a B.Tech. in Agricultural Economics, an M.Sc. in Economics, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a member of IIROC, holding multiple professional certifications, including the Licensed International Financial Analyst, Certified Treasury Professional, and Personal Financial Planner (PFP). These achievements reflect his dedication to continuous professional development and his ability to navigate the complexities of the financial sector across global markets.
General secretary
Adeleye is a Banking and Finance professional and a FinTech enthusiast with about 15 Years of work experience in the Nigerian Banking sector. He worked at Oceanic Bank, Access Bank, Unity Bank, and First Bank Nigeria Limited before my recent relocation to Canada. I served as Assistant Secretary of the CIBN Ibadan Branch between 2015 and 2016. He is also interested in serving the CIBN Canada branch by giving back to one of the institutions that have shaped his career path and, by extension, his journey in life.
Assistant General Secretary
Before coming to Canada in 2021, he was the Managing Partner of Verison Resources, a financial services company that was into training professionals on diverse competencies for companies. He partnered with Tova Heights Associates (Financial & Management Consultant) and held a similar status with Soneye Sojinrin & Co. (Chartered Accountants). He served previously as a member of the CIBN Annual Bankers Dinner Committee 2016-2018. Member, audit committee, Lagos Branch chapter, CIBN 2020. He also has similar experiences with sister organizations like ICAN and ISACA.
In Canada, he sensed that CIBN has yet to achieve the professional visibility and recognition that other similar professional bodies enjoy. He felt it requires the concerted efforts of passionate members to elevate the institute to that status and, by so doing, prepare a ground for future professionals.
Social Secretary
Grace is a certified business analysis professional (CBAP), a management consultant, a business developer, and a project management professional with about a decade of experience gathering requirements and developing documents such as use cases and business and process models while managing projects, people, processes, products, and platforms to deliver value to internal and external stakeholders. She is passionate about solving difficult challenges and providing transformational solutions to businesses, especially when consistently adopting data-driven insights, which is critical to business growth. She has a deep interest and expertise in event management.
Ex-Officio
Mary is an ex-officer, the immediate past chairperson of the branch. She is currently a Governing Council member of the institute. With over 15 years in the financial services industry, she is the Associate Vice President of Property and Casualty Technology at the Cooperators Group Limited. She is also a director at several Fintech Startups, including Opolo Global Innovation Limited.
Additionally, she mentors students and newcomers looking to restart their careers in Canada and mid-level career individuals positioning themselves for growth.
Treasurer
David Ajimati has over a decade of experience in Banking and Finance. David has worked in various capacities in Diamond Bank Plc and Access Bank and is Currently working at the mid-management level with one of the Top 5 Canadian Banks. David holds a master’s in development finance from the University of Lagos and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Technology from Seneca College, where he graduated with distinction.
